On the “Smackdown” programme from October 7th, Paul “Triple H” Levesque made his first on-screen appearance since being appointed WWE Chief Content Officer. Levesque introduced the new season of “SmackDown” to begin the show in what was only his second on-screen appearance since the significant cardiac crisis that caused his in-ring retirement.
“There will come a time when you believe everything is finished,” he said, “But that, that is the beginning.”
Prior to introducing the new season of “SmackDown” on Fox, Levesque first flipped over his microphone to display yet another enigmatic “white rabbit” QR code. Just one night before WWE’s Extreme Rules premium live event on October 8, a new tease will be released.
Levesque has spoken in the media frequently after being promoted to CCO to discuss the leadership changes at WWE and his future creative approach. However, until the “SmackDown” on October 7, he hadn’t really made an appearance on-screen in any WWE programming. He started night two of WrestleMania 38 six months ago, which was the last time he appeared on WWE programming. After opening the programme, he left his boots in the ring to symbolise his formal retirement from in-ring competition.
On October 10, “Raw” will also air its season premiere programme, during which the new announce team will be introduced as well as any potential consequences of the Extreme Rules incident. Whether or not Levesque will show up to introduce “Raw’s season premiere remains to be seen.
