Security Concerns: Facebook Login Credentials Compromised

Facebook Login Security Concerns: Facebook has issued a warning to users about fraudulent Android and iOS apps that are stealing login information.

According to a story from The Verge, the company claimed that over 400 malicious apps disguising themselves as games, photo editors, and other services have been discovered.

People were duped into downloading applications, and then instructed to log in using Facebook. After that, according to The Verge, the developers were able to steal credentials. According to a Facebook analysis, 355 of the 402 malicious Play Store apps were for Android and 47 were for iOS.

Facebook altered users who “may have unknowingly self-compromised their accounts by downloading these apps and sharing their credentials.” Bloomberg reported that a million users were affected.
