Xiaomi has announced that POCO is now an independent brand. The company will now run independently and will make its own market strategy. This move came months after the exit of Jai Mani (former Google) and some of other core members exit. POCO entered the smartphone market in 2018 and till then the company has launched only a single smartphone that is the POCO F1. It is still a successful smartphone.
POCO, NOW A INDEPENDENT BRAND
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India MD shares the same information on its twitter account. He said in a tweet “Excited to share: #POCO will now be an independent brand! What started as a sub-brand within Xiaomi, has grown into its own identity. POCO F1 was an incredibly popular phone. We feel the time is right to let POCO operate on its own. Join me in wishing @IndiaPOCO all the best.”
POCO WAS PREVIOUSLY A SUB BRAND OF XIAOMI
In 2018, POCO entered the market as a sub-brand of Xiaomi. It company was working under Xiaomi. Now it has full independence to work as a brand. Xiaomi has already confirmed that now POCO is a separate brand and it will work with its own team and will have own marketing strategy.
This is just the same as Realme. Now Poco is also an independent brand like Realme. But there is something that is not known yet. The thing is whether the Poco smartphone will use Xiaomi resources or not. It is not clarified yet. Realme is still using Oppo resources and this is the reason why both the brand’s smartphone functions similarly.
NEW POCO PHONE SOON OR NOT??
A smartphone dubbed as Poco X2 was recently spotted on the website Geekbench. The smartphone has 8GB RAM and Android 10 OS. Further specs show the Qualcomm processor. There are some speculations that the phone will be Poco X2 and it will be the rebranded version of the Redmi K30 smartphone. So we can just expect the new phone from Poco soon.
