Nvidia RTX 4080 12GB Graphic Card Unlaunched

” The RTX 4080 12GB is a fantastic graphics card, but it’s not named right. Having two GPUs with the 4080 designation is confusing.

So, we’re pressing the “unlaunch” button on the 4080 12GB. The RTX 4080 16GB is amazing and on track to delight gamers everywhere on November 16th.

If the lines around the block and enthusiasm for the 4090 is any indication, the reception for the 4080 will be awesome.”

Nvidia RTX 4080 12GB Graphic Card Discontinues

The RTX 4000 range of graphics hardware, unveiled by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on September 20th, is built on the new Ada Lovelace architecture and manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm technology. The GeForce RTX 4090, the company’s flagship GPU, debuted a few days ago. It was praised for making a significant generational improvement over the RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti, the previous RTX 3000 flagship GPUs. It’s safe to say that the RTX 4080, which was unveiled in two quite different flavours, did not receive the same amount of praise and enthusiasm.

Pressure on the RTX 4080 12GB came from a number of directions, including pricing, name, and specifications, which is why Nvidia decided to postpone and probably rebrand the product. In light of this, delaying and changing the name of the RTX 4080 12GB is the ideal course of action for Nvidia as it returns attention to the upcoming RTX 4080 16GB release, while challenging issues about the cost/performance of the 12GB variant can be addressed later on.
