India inaugurated the Lipulekh-Dharachula route on Friday for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Nepal raised objections on Saturday, calling it a one-sided activity. The Foreign Ministry has claimed that the entire eastern area of the Mahakali river falls within the Nepal border. India should avoid any kind of activity on the border of another country. This is the second time since November when Nepal has expressed its displeasure in this way.
The Ministry of External Affairs responded to Nepal
Ministry of External Affairs answers Nepal that Lipulek falls within our border area. People use to travel via this route earlier too. We have now facilitated traffic for pilgrims, local people, and businessmen by building only on this route. On the other hand, this attitude of Nepal seems to be growing bitter between the two countries. India has postponed the secret level talks with Nepal about the Corona epidemic.
New Route Beneficial For Army
In Uttarakhand, the Lipulekh-Dharachula route was started by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh through video conferencing. This route is 80 kilometers long. It has been prepared by the Border Road Organization. The journey of Kailash Mansarovar will be facilitated by the new route. This area is very inaccessible. Apart from this, the border of China is also very close to here. This road has special significance for the army as well.
