India Vs West Indies: Hanuma Vihari Scored His Maiden Test Ton Against West Indies

Hanuma Vihari scored his first Test ton and helped the team India to score more than 400 runs on the Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica stadium against the host West Indies on the second day of the second Test match. Hanuma Vihari later admitted he was pretty emotional after getting his first century. He also credited Ishant Sharma for this.

Rishabh Pant got out on the first ball of the day, and then Vihari got support from Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant to score 112 for the eighth wicket. He said that when he was batting overnight on 42, he didn’t sleep well. Further, he said that All I was thinking about was how to get a big score.

Hanuma Vihari added “Really happy that I was able to get my first ton. At Lunch, I was on 84, and it took me a while to get to a hundred. My dad passed away when I was 12. So I had decided when I get my first international century, I want to dedicate it to him. Today is an emotional day and I hope he’s proud.”

West Indies Trail By 329 Runs As Bumrah Made Hatrick

After the role of Hanuma Vihari in India’s first Inning, Jasprit Bumrah took charge in the bowling department. West Indies ended the day with a total of 87 for 7 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took six wickets which also included a hat-trick. On the excellent performance of Bumrah, Hanuma Vihari said “We bowled brilliantly and Bumrah was excellent. We have to get them all out as soon as possible. We enjoy seeing him bowl, and I know he has a long career ahead.”
