Yamraj Mandir in Himachal Pradesh

Yamraj mandir or Yamraaz temple is located at the Bharmour in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the temple where nobody goes inside to worship. Room for Chitragupta

There is one room in the Yamraj Temple that is dedicated to Maharaj Chitragupta. According to the beliefs, Chitragupta was the secretary cum accountant of Yamraj. He used to keep the record of all the good and evil deeds of mortal human beings. It is believed that after death soul is brought before Chitragupta, who spells out the deeds of that soul to Yamraj. These karmas are aided by Lord Shravan, the son of Lord Brahma, who knows everything in heaven, earth, and hell.

Garuda Purana Says…

According to the Garud Purana, a religious text, it is believed that the Yamraj temple has four invisible doors. These doors are made out of gold, silver, bronze, and iron. After death, the soul has to cross one of the doors and step into the parallel world according to their deeds. Yamraj will be the one who decides which should pass through which door. If the person had bad karma, then this person’s soul has to cross from the iron door. And if they have good karma, they have to pass through gold. Likewise, karma will decide which door a person should cross.
